I lived in NYC for the better part of 30 years, and having recently moved to Philadelphia it feels natural to want to photograph what I see in guiding my exploration and learning within this new chapter.

While on my daily commute to and from work on SEPTA, I’m always drawn to a window seat so I can watch Philly go by.  There’s a lot to see;  homes and backyards of every kind, deserted buildings from industrial eras of the past, the Philadelphia zoo, the Schuylkill river with rowers on sculls, cityscapes, and of course the Philly residents themselves... all entirely different views compared to the underground depths of NYC.

I know from personal experience that I always enjoy seeing my surroundings that I've been familiar with through the eyes of family or friends visiting, who were seeing it with wide eyed embrace and appreciation for the first time.  I hope that these images may do the same, whether you are a long time Philly resident, or you are new to the area like me.
